Each week Advanced Materials publishes the latest breakthroughs in applied research across the boundaries between the physics, chemistry, and biology of functional materials, systems, and technologies. This year marks the 30th anniversary of Advanced Materials, seen first as a special focus section in Angewandte Chemie in 1988 and from 1989 onwards as an independent journal. In the meantime, Advanced Materials has grown to become a highly visible forum for the very best interdisciplinary materials science, demonstrating its ongoing success with a 2016 Impact Factor of 19.791 and a Web of Science listing in six different topic categories.

To celebrate the 30th anniversary of Advanced MaterialsNANO2018 will feature special AM30 events on Tuesday 26 June 2018, hosted by Prof. Jian Lu (CityU HK) and Prof. Hua Zhang (NTU Singapore). There will be an AM30 Symposium on "Advanced Multifunctional Nanomaterials" as one of the 13 parallel NANO2018 sessions, followed by an AM30 Reception as part of NANO2018.
